Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) members at Bluffton High School and Hilton Head Christian Academy educated their peers during November National Smoke-Free and Vape-Free Month. THY Bluffton High created videos to educate their peers on the risks of vaping and showcased them in the student morning news program. THY members at Hilton Head Christian Academy developed Instagram posts to educate their peers on the dangers of smoking and proactive ways to quit smoking. These posts were shared on Hilton Head Christian Academy’s Instagram and Teens for Healthy Youth’s Instagram. All THY groups also posted “6 Reasons to Quit Vaping” created by THY Members serving as LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth Summer Interns. Providing information on the dangers of smoking and vaping is an activity in the LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth’s 12-Month Action Plan Under Strategy One, Providing Information, of the Seven Strategies of Community Level Change.
